Strawberry Mountain Style Guide Vol. 2

Welcome back to the Strawberry Mountain Style Guide! We first released this style guide via email back in December 2022. These style guides are designed to share some fresh ideas you can use with pieces from your wardrobe and with clothing you can find right here at the store!

This round, we’re talking monochromatic fits, check it out!

First off, a monochromatic look typically uses only one color or hue to create a bold, fun, and (duh) colorful outfit! Don’t worry about a monochromatic fit being too “matchy-matchy” or the colors not matching enough. There are SO many ways to do it that utilize different tones, textures, and even accent colors that aren’t part of the monochromatic color palette.

For example, if you have a red dress, red earrings, and red shoes (this would be great for a holiday party!) – you could wear these pieces together and really make a statement, or you can pair it with some classic black tights and other layers that aren’t red and it will still translate to being bold and fun!

Now, let's get into the visuals and the details. We had so much fun with this one, so we went ahead and named these looks after some of our favorite candy flavors because, why not? Here’s some inspiration for how you can create your own monochromatic looks!

Sour Apple — This look is all about textures. That fuzzy tonal sweater, some silky bell bottoms, and some shiny leather boots — done and done!

Cherry Bomb — Here’s a great example of how you can choose one color to be the fixture of a look, without feeling like a walking red crayon.

Peaches and Cream — Orange isn’t for everyone, but it’s a great color for a monochromatic fit because so many different warm tones go well together.

Blue Razz — Blues and purples are such a natural pair, and those wild shoes make the color-play in this fit feel extra special.

Thanks so much for reading! We would love to see your versions of these fits, or any inspiration you receive from them. Tag us in Instagram @strawberry.mountain.bst when you post them!

Until next time,
“Be excellent to each other”
